Daily duties
I live with my … in a flat. We like to
keep our flat tidy and clean. So, we always have much work about the house. We
make the list of duties. Everybody has some duty.
My father’s duty is to do the
shopping. Mother gives him the shopping list. Mum usually cooks for the family.
Sometimes I help my mother. I can peel, slice or chop vegetables and fruit. I
can make sandwiches and different salads, too. I can warm food in the microwave
oven. I often wash the dishes and sweep the floor in the kitchen. It’s easy.
On Saturdays we all clean our
flat. … does the carpets with the vacuum cleaner. I tidy up my room and water
the plants. Mum does the laundry with the washing machine. She also does the
ironing.
When we finish our work, we
are very tidy, but we are very happy, too. The flat is very clean and cosy.
It’s great to live in it.
Sometimes we invite guests for
tea. I like to help mum to lay the table.
Help your mother lay the table, Help
your mother clean the table,
Put the knives, and forks and
spoons. Take the knives, and
forks and spoons.
Help your mother lay the
table Help your mother
clean the table
Every afternoon.
Morning, night and noon.

Seasons
Winter, spring, summer and
autumn are four seasons of the year.
It is cold in winter, it often
snows. The trees and ground are white. We wear coats, boots, scarves, mittens,
caps and socks in winter.
It is warm in spring, it often
rains. There are small green leaves on the trees. Birds sing their songs. We
wear raincoats, sweaters, shoes ……. in spring.
It is usually hot in summer.
The sun shines and the sky is blue. Children don’t go to school. They can swim
in summer. We can wear T-shirts, shorts …… in summer.
Autumn is a cool and wet
season. But it is beautiful. The trees are yellow, red and brown. It often
rains and it is windy. School starts in autumn. We wear raincoats, umbrellas ……
in autumn.

Weekends
Schoolchildren in all
countries are very busy on weekdays. They have many lessons and much homework.
But
Saturday and Sunday are happy days
They bring much fun and time to play.
British children spend their
weekends in different ways. In winter they enjoy skiing, skating, sledging or
playing snowballs. In summer they often go to the seaside, to the lake, to the
river or to the mountains. They go fishing, boating, lie in the sun or build
sandcastles. In the mountains they live in tents and climb the mountains.
Many children like to travel
with their parents. They go to big cities and visit museuns, art galleries,
theatres, cinemas and circuses. They buy new things for their collections:
stamps, badges, stickers, posters, dolls, cars.
British children are fond of
different parties. They can have a cookery party, a balloon party, a teddy-bear
party, a football party on their weekends. For some parties they make special
cakes, name badges, invitations and posters.
British children like having a
good time on the weekends.
Winter
Children are
skating,
Children are
skiing,
And sledging down
the hills.
Winter is coming,
Winter is here
With snow, frost
and winds.
Winter is different in
different countries. Winter in Ukraine is fantastic. The weather is usually
freezing cold. It is often very slippery and we must be careful. But there is a
lot of snow and it is great! We can skate, ski, sledge, make a snowman or a
snowcastle. I like having a snowball fight with my friends. It is fun!
Winter in England is not so
beautiful. It is not very cold. It is often foggy and cool. Only sometimes it
snows, but more often it rains. Englishmen don’t usually wear fur coats or fur
caps. They wear raincoats and carry umbrellas. English children only dream of
the frosty windows that we have in Ukraine in winter.
When windows are frosty Or flowers, or houses,
And icy in places, Or may be a
cat.
I like to write letters, I really wish
windows
And draw funny faces, Were always like that!
